EMPEQ 2025: A Year of Smarter Physical Asset Intelligence

EMPEQ 2025: A Year of Smarter Physical Asset Intelligence

By Derek LaClair, MBA

As we look back on the past year at EMPEQ, one thing is clear: 2025 marked a step-change in momentum and capability. Every major release was designed to move beyond experimentation and into enterprise-ready performance, and this has given customers greater confidence, intelligence, and scalability across asset-driven workflows.

Product and Platform Advances

At the center of this evolution was the launch of Fast Site Survey 3.0. More than an upgrade, Fast Site Survey (FSS) 3.0 represents a fully modernized platform that is sleek, stable, and built for scale. Designed for real-world operations and dependable at enterprise scale, FSS provides a professional-grade foundation for capturing, managing, and operationalizing physical asset intelligence across teams, geographies, and portfolios.

Built on top of that foundation, AssetIQ emerged as EMPEQ’s most transformative capability to date. AssetIQ goes far beyond image recognition alone, ingesting multiple forms of media and documentation (e.g., photos, scanned documents, nameplates, spec sheets, and legacy records) and converting them into structured, AI-ready asset intelligence.

Powered by proprietary, patent-pending models that deliver up to 2× greater accuracy than leading commercial off-the-shelf LLMs (large language models) like ChatGPT, AssetIQ delivers actionable insights such as equipment identification and classification, estimated age, efficiency indicators, replacement suggestions, and lifecycle insights. These datapoints help organizations accelerate audits, improve proposal accuracy, reduce execution risk, and make smarter decisions earlier in the asset lifecycle, while creating a durable data asset that can be reused across planning, delivery, and sustainment.

AssetIQ – AI done right.

External Validation and Industry Recognition

2025 also brought meaningful third-party validation of EMPEQ’s technology, impact, and leadership:

  • Executive Thought Leadership: CEO Herbert Dwyer was invited to speak at the AEE World Tech Breakfast and to lead a fireside chat with Damola Adamolekun, CEO of Red Lobster, on leadership and transformation.
  • Federal Recognition: EMPEQ was honored as a $2M TACFI recipient from the U.S. Air Force at FedSupernova, underscoring trust in the platform by high-ranking government stakeholders.
  • Accelerator Success: EMPEQ finished as the $150,000 grand prize winner of the Uptake Alliance accelerator, recognizing both technical rigor and real-world applicability.
  • Industry Stewardship: EMPEQ received the inaugural Professional Development Champion Award from New Energy New York, honoring its commitment to mentoring and developing emerging clean-energy professionals.

Together, these milestones reinforce a simple belief: durable technology, measurable outcomes, and industry leadership must advance together.
